As you may all well know, the corky couple: Russell Brand and Katy Perry are no longer an item for Russell Brand filed for a divorce during Christmas in which Katy Perry was vacationing with friends in Hawaii and he was back home in Europe visiting his mother. The filing of the divorce took Katy Perry by surprise for she thought that they were going to work things out.

Apparently, according to sources, Russell Brand really couldn’t afford the time to work things out because his life was at stake in a way. Russell Brand was once insanely addicted to drugs and has turned his life around. In the past year he noticed Katy Perry changing dramatically as she was hanging out with a bunch of groupies that were only using her according to Brand Russell. Many of them spent all night snorting coke and drinking. As of now, he hasn’t mentioned that Katy Perry was snorting cocaine herself but has said that she was knocking down tequila shots like water and chain smoking like a mad woman on top of terrible mood swings.

When she left to Hawaii during Christmas he decided that he had to end things with her. It wasn’t the first time that Katy had gone away and spent nights partying with friends. He just thought the worst…In all honesty if this, in fact is true, I mean what is “one” to think, but the worse? How is he suppose to know for a fact that she’s not doing cocaine and during Christmas isn’t traditional to spent time next to your loved one even if your not the most common of couples out there?

This is where “one” can speculate about the impact that age difference does have in couples. Katy Perry is 27 years old while Russell Brand is 36. There’s that saying that says: “Age is nothing but a number.” In some rare cases it may be true, but in most cases a big age difference does make a difference. Though Katy Perry may have loved Russell Brand like crazy, she wasn’t mature enough or wise enough to know that his condition was serious and one that should be treated with a lot of support and care. I suppose that Russell Brand didn’t realize that she wasn’t doing it on purpose per se, but just being a wild child that’s finally away from her strict parents and living it up- having fun.

Though the age difference isn’t as spectacular as in some other cases, there is one. Russell Brand apparently has been through hell and back and sure does not want to go back to a living hell, drug addicted life. Katy Perry led a very sheltered life and now she’s gone a little wild. We can’t blame her, but ultimately, Russell Brand made the best decision he could to remain on the wagon. Sadly, their break up all came down to being about cocaine from all things…
