If your familiar with the Brit, talented, chameleon actor: Gary Oldman, you’ve probably heard that he maybe coming face to face with his long over due, first Oscar Nomination. Though Gary Oldman has been recognized as a superb actor through the last three decades, he really hasn’t gotten just enough recognition in award ceremonies. The man is a complete genius and now after a series of an array of roles is when he finally gets nominated for an Oscar for his role on “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.”

Gary Oldman says “the glasses” he wore during the film as part of his costume was what nailed the role. Though I doubt it, the actor has to have some kind of substance to nail such a role. He plays, a cold war spy…
He’s best known for playing the late “Sid Vicious” in Sid and Nancy, he’s also, well known for being Harry Potter as “Sirius Black” and countless more films, including Bram Stoker’s Dracula, True Romance, The Professional, The Fifth Element. In each he gave performances that were above and beyond superb. In some you couldn’t even tell it was Gary Oldman until after reading the credits. It’s no wonder he’s known as a “chameleon.”
However, though nailing role after role- and difficult ones at that, he’s never been nominated for an Oscar until now for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. I sure hope he takes the prize home. It’s an understatement that it’s long over due. It’s more like what the hell have these Oscar judges been? Have they not seen Gary Oldman in action?
