Last year (2011) I went on a Indie/Slasher Film marathon, most of these films include some dark comedy which makes them even better. They’re outlandish, gory and all the while truly funny. I mean if you have somewhat of dark sense of humor you’ll enjoy some of the movies I saw. Not all of them were great, but some of them were beyond great. My favorite one is “Some Guy Who Kills People.” I feel as though this is 2011’s Best Indie/Slasher Film.
It was written by Ryan A. Levin and directed by Jack Perez . The movie basically revolves around this dude named Ken Boyd played by (Kevin Corrigan) who works at an ice cream shop, lives with his mother at 34 years old, is severely introverted and an incredible artist.
Bizarre and gruesome murders begin to occur around his town while simultaneously his daughter that he never got a chance to meet appears at his doorstep. His social skills are pretty much non existent since his break down and stint at an insane asylum. However, he does start coming around and enjoying time with his daughter and even goes on date when he is suddenly accused of the gruesome murders.
The movie has great violent and gory scenes, witty dialogue and an awesome twist. If you’re a fan of horror films, you will surely enjoy this Indie/Slasher gem: “Some Guy Who Kills People.” It’s not predictable and definitely one of a kind.
